Horatio Alger National and State Scholarships

Up to $25,000 in scholarships available  Must be graduating from high school  Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income)  Must be a United States Citizen  Online Application due October 25, 2017.

National CO-OP Scholarship Program

160 Merit Scholarships totaling $4,200,000 Students must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better Students must also apply for the 2018-2019 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions. Please see Ms. Weinhold for listed institutions.  Online application due February 15th, 2018.  May vary depending on Institution requirements.

2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program

A chance to receive an award up to $5,000  A student must be in grades 5-12 as of November 7, 2017, and a legal resident of the United States. A student has engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least in part after September 1, 2016. Student must complete an application and submit to a school principal by November 7, 2017. Online application due November 7, 2017

2017-2018 Engineering Scholarships

$2,000 multiple scholarships available  Available to graduating high school seniors who plan to study engineering at a four-year ABET-accredited program leading to a baccalaureate degree in engineering and intent to enter the profession of engineering upon graduation.  Applications can be found at or through Ms. Weinhold.  Due December 18, 2017.

Hagan Scholarship

Scholarships available for up to $40,000  Students must be high achieving, self-driven students with high schools for this need-based merit scholarship.  Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher and score a 23 or higher on the ACT.  Must enroll in an eligible four-year college or university. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of each academic year of college.  Must complete the FAFSA in 2017. Estimated Family Contribution must be less than $6,500.  Application available online at Due November 15, 2017.

US Constitution Scholarship contest

Award amount varies.  A student must be a high school senior and a US citizen.  The local test will be given February 11, 2018, at the Rice Lake Lodge.  See Ms. Weinhold for the application.   Due prior to February 11, 2018.

Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Program

Chapter winner $200, State winner $250, National division winner $500, Two National winners will be invited to Washington, DC to attend Continental Congress and will be awarded $5,000, inscribed silver bowls and certificates.  If interested, please see Ms. Weinhold.  Part 1: Personal, Part 2: Essay, and Cover Sheet are due November 22, 2017.

Herb Kohl Student Excellence Scholarship

$10,000 available for 100 Wisconsin high school graduates

Students must be a graduating high school student who intends to enroll in a postsecondary institution. Students who are residents of the State of Wisconsin, are in good standing, and who demonstrate probable success in postsecondary education are eligible to apply.

Each student must submit three letters of recommendation, one from each of the following categories:

1. Teacher;

2. Counselor or Principal;

3. Community member or family friend who is not affiliated with your school district.

Online applications are due no later than Tuesday, November 7, 2017.


Real World Design Challenge Scholarship

Seven $50,000 Scholarships available

Students must be currently enrolled in grade nine, ten, eleven, or twelve. Students enrolled in school environments with an alternative grade or level designations must be engaged in a program of study equivalent to the corresponding high school grade level.

Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships

Five $5,000 Scholarships available

Students must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution (Kindergarten through graduate school) in the United States. All applicants must be ages 5-25. Students must have demonstrated an on-going commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger in the United States within the last 12 months.

AXA Achievement Scholarships

52 $25,000 Scholarships available

Students must be a United States citizen or legal resident living or laming residency in one of the 50 united states, Washington, D.C., or Puerto Rico. Students must also be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college.

Thiel Fellowship

30 $100,000 Scholarships available

Students must be interested in building new things. The scholarship was funded by technology entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel in 2011. The Thiel Fellowship is a two-year program that offers 20-30 fellowships in the value of $100,000 over a two year period.

Union Plus Scholarship

Students must be current or retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations). At least one year of continuous union membership by the applicant, applicant's spouse or parent (if the applicant is a dependent).
