District Referendum Information

Prairie Farm currently has an operating referendum in place in the amount of $550,000 per year which will expire after the 2017-18 school year.

An operating referendum is the only means available for school districts to generate additional revenue over the state-approved revenue limits.

The Board of Education approved an election ballot question for the April 3rd general election in the amount of $650,000 per year for a five year period of time. Revenue limits and state aid have not come close to keeping up with inflation. Operating referendum funds are necessary in order for the district to maintain the high-quality programs and activities that we have and to enable us to fund necessary upkeep and equipment replacements.
