Amount: $500.00


Must be in a horticulture program – landscape design, turf management or

general program. Must be a Barron County high school senior or have graduated from a Barron

County high school and are attending an accredited 2- or 4-year school. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Should be or have been an active participant in school and community activities.

Barron County Deputy’s Association

Amount: 1 for $614.00 and 1 for $608.00


The Barron County Deputy’s Association is giving out 2 scholarships for a total of $1222.00. Any Barron County High School Senior may apply who is seeking post-secondary education. Preferences will NOT be given based on area of study. All are encouraged to apply.

Wisconsin Towns Association

Rural Mutual Insurance Company, Wisconsin Towns Association, and Scott Construction, Inc.

are again offering the following scholarships to winners of an essay contest. Scholarships

will be awarded on the following basis: Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the students with the highest-ranking essay score from a town or village insured by Rural Mutual Insurance Company as of May 1, 2024.

Five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the top five additional students with the highest-

ranking essay scores.

All applicants must graduate from a Wisconsin public or private high school in 2024 and plan to

attend a Wisconsin public or private college or university in 2024. Essays will be judged independently on originality and subject matter in relation to the topic. The essays must also contain correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Proof of enrollment in a Wisconsin public or a private college is required to receive a scholarship.

Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Scholarship

The family of Carrie Stuckert has created the Dream Pool Foundation, a non-profit organization providing assistance to individuals pursuing education in the visual arts. Currently Dream Pool is offering six (6) award opportunities. One (1) $5,000 scholarship,Two (2) $2,000 scholarships, Three (3) $1,000 scholarships.

Interested candidates must possess extra-curricular accomplishments and inspirational goals. Academically capable students must be enrolled as an Art Major at an accredited institution of higher education located in the United States. (This includes Art Therapy Programs). All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Recipients will be required to provide evidence of college acceptance before money is awarded.

Jennie-O Scholarship

Amount: Up to 50 $1,000 scholarships and up to two $6,000 scholarships will be awarded

Jennie-O is offering more than $60,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are children of Jennie-O team members or who are team members themselves. The postmark deadline to submit applications is March 8, 2024. The detailed criteria for each scholarship type can be found on the cover page of the attached application. The application is set up as a fillable form.


If you have any students whose parents work at Jennie-O (or if the student works for Jennie-O themselves) who are planning to continue their education, please encourage them to fill out a scholarship application. Please also encourage them to look into the Hormel Foods Inspired Pathways Scholarship Program by going to hormelinspiredpathways.com. This is another great opportunity to help students fund their educational goals.

Alex Moen Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Three $500 scholarships

Plans to attend a vocational school or technical college with at least a 1 year full-time program. 

Three $500 scholarships will be awarded.

Applications are due by March 22, 2024. Recipients will be announced at the Senior Award Ceremony.

Checks will be distributed upon second semester registration and transcripts from the previous semester.

This scholarship must be claimed by January 31, 2025.

MCHS Scholarship

Amount: $1000

Mayo Clinic Health System is committed to supporting the continuing education of students within our communities. To show our commitment for promoting health careers, we will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from your high school who plans to continue their education in a health care related field.

 

Attached you will find the scholarship application. All high school students who plan to continue their education in a health care related field are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

HERB KOHL Initiative Scholarship

Amount: $10,000

The intent of the Herb Kohl Student Initiative Scholarship is to recognize students putting forth extraordinary effort to do their best in the classroom and have overcome significant obstacles or adversity, but whose class rank, GPA, or status is likely to make them ineligible for any academic scholarships. 

Eligibility:

Applicants must be accepted and enrolled in an approved program at a post-secondary institution.  All seniors planning post-secondary education should have at least a 1.75 GPA. Students who have overcome personal obstacles or other adversity and have achieved an academic record that represents their maximum effort and show strong promise for succeeding in a postsecondary environment as evidenced by a well-rounded, solid secondary school performance. Selected students will display other outstanding qualities and demonstrate a high level of motivation to achieve.

2024 Money Smart Essay 

Amount:  1 of several $1,000 Edvest Accounts

 

It is open to any Wisconsin High School Senior.

 

Eligibility: Be a resident of Wisconsin, graduating high school senior and plan to attend a Wisconsin college or university. Student or parent/guardian must have a valid SSN. Demonstrate key money management knowledge (budgeting, investing, use of credit, etc.).

 

Essay, up to 1500 words, must be typed and double spaced. The essay must be concise and written by the student submitting the essay. The Money Smart Scholarship Application must be signed by the student and a parent/guardian and attached to the essay. CVTC Scholarships

AMOUNT: varies, $200-$5,000

The CVTC Foundation offers over 400 scholarship opportunities.

There are numerous scholarships available for current high school seniors who will be attending CVTC this coming fall. Students can apply in a matter of minutes via the online application.  

Student scholarships range in amount from $200 to as much as $5,000.  Some of these awards are program specific, but others are open to all CVTC students. 

Eligibility:

Any student with a CVTC student ID is eligible to apply.  Check out available scholarships and apply by logging onto  cvtc.academicworks.com  Search for program-specific scholarships by entering your program name in the “Search by Keyword” box under “Our Opportunities” or view all scholarships. 

There are various deadlines. Be sure to check each scholarship for its due date.



Duggy Nelson Memorial Scholarship

Amount: 1-$750

The Duggy Nelson Memorial Scholarship for $750 is offered annually to students studying in Law Enforcement, EMT, or Paramedic fields.


Eligibility:Applicant must be a Barron County resident or student enrolled in a Barron County school, enrolling in a college or vocational/technical school in a course of study leading to a two or four-year degree in police science, criminal justice, or law enforcement-related (which doesn’t include law school), EMT, or paramedic field is eligible.

Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc.

Amount: 5 for $3,000

Will be awarding five outstanding high school seniors from rural Wisconsin, with each a $3,000 scholarship award to pursue post-secondary education through their Premier Scholarship Award Program. 

Eligibility:

The high school senior has lived in rural Wisconsin for at least two years. "Rural" is defined as traditional rural areas and rural towns with a population of 25,000 or less.

The high senior is attending a public or private school in Wisconsin.

The high school senior is pursuing post-secondary education and plans on returning to rural Wisconsin upon graduation.

The high school senior will pursue a degree in a field that will support the economic health and well-being of rural communities in Wisconsin. This includes fields in agriculture, healthcare, large animal veterinary care, environmental studies, and sustainable practices.

The high school senior has financial need.

Three letters of recommendation are requested and help in the selection process but are not required.

River Country Coop

Amount: 15 for $500

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to any River Country Co-op member and their children. Any high school senior, college student, or non-traditional student in either a two or four year accredited college or University. Any area of study is accepted, but Agronomy-related is preferred.

AB Nicholas Scholarship

AMOUNT: 1 for $10,000 a year for a four-year program or $5000 a year for a two-year program. Renewable each year for a total of $40,000/$10,000.


This year the Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation will offer scholarships to approximately 100 Wisconsin public and private high school graduates based on need, academic achievement and character.


Eligibility:

Applicants must be a resident of Wisconsin, a basketball program participant in their senior year, planning to attend a University of Wisconsin System school and not participating in sports at the Division 1 level in college (4-year program only).

Mosaic Technologies Scholarship

AMOUNT: A chance at 1 for $1000


Eligibility:

Scholarship applicants with parents or guardians who subscribe to service(s) with Mosaic Technologies are eligible to apply for one of our scholarships up to $1000.  Successfully submitted applications will be chosen based on their essay and individual community involvement.  The essay response must include the following:  the importance of broadband beyond entertainment, how broadband contributes to economic growth and development, and how broadband has changed the landscape within your rural community’s growth and development through its contribution to attracting people and business.

Northwood’s Longbeards Academic Scholarship Application

AMOUNT: 1 for $500


Eligibility:

The Northwood’s Longbeards, Cumberland/Shell Lake/Turtle Lake/Barron/Clayton/Prairie Farm chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, is offering a $500 scholarship to graduating seniors.  Students must be pursuing a degree at an institution of higher education (community college, technical college, college, or university).


Students must submit an application and essay describing the importance of outdoor activities (hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, etc.) to them.

Barron Electric Scholarship

AMOUNT: 2 scholarships of $1000 each


Eligibility:

Selection of the scholarship recipients will be based on the student’s ability, leadership service, and cooperation as a student and within the community. Scholarship applications will be collected (using a standardized application form) by the high school’s guidance office. 


Students must be a graduating senior attending a designated high school. Student's guardians/parents must be active members of Barron Electric Cooperative. Must plan to attend a University/ College/Technical Institution. Students whose relatives are directors or employees of Barron Electric Cooperative do not qualify.


Applications will be evaluated, ranked, and selected by the high school’s scholarship committee. Students who rank in the top 6-25% of their class will be given first priority.

WISA Youth Scholarship Program

AMOUNT: 1 for $1,500


The Wisconsin Security Association (WISA), is pleased to announce the availability of two college scholarships for graduating seniors whose parents are full-time, active members of a Wisconsin police or fire department. One $1,500 Youth Scholarship will be awarded to a son/daughter of an active-duty police department member and one to a son/daughter of an active-duty fire department member. Since 2010 WISA has awarded $40,000 in scholarships.


A first place winner will be chosen from the Wisconsin Association two awardees and will be submitted to the Electronic Security Association for competition for one of two national college scholarships. The first place national winner will receive $7,500 and the second place national winner receives $2,500.

WiRSA Senior Post-Secondary (Teacher) Scholarship 

AMOUNT: 1 for $750


In recognition of the tremendous efforts put forth by Wisconsin’s rural schools to provide their students with quality education in an ever-changing environment, it is with pleasure that the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance (WiRSA) offers an annual scholarship program. This year a second set of scholarships will be offered to students entering the field of Teacher Education. To qualify, participating schools must be current paid members of WiRSA.


The scholarship will be awarded annually to one graduating high school senior from each of the four membership regions of Wisconsin as specified in the organization’s bylaws. An additional at-Large scholarship will be given to the next highest-scoring applicant. Each recipient will receive a one-time cash scholarship of $750 to be used by the student to help defray the costs of post-secondary education and related expenses. 


A written essay is required for the application that expands on the following information:

Why are you choosing the field of Teacher Education?

What is the value of growing up in a rural community, and what personal values have you gained from your experience?

The Student Nominee must be attending a public high school in the United States.The Student Nominee’s past and current public service activities are:

independent, voluntary and beneficial to the citizens of the greater community outside their school (off-campus).

Without monetary or material reward or personal gain including favor, advancement or recognition. Devoid of any imposed requirement to serve, discrimination, matters of social conflict or difference, or service related to social, political and governmental ideologies, activities and practices.

The Hagan Scholarship

AMOUNT:


The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. Applicants must attend a traditional public high school governed by a school district. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional consecutive semesters.

Xello & Method Learning High School Scholarship

AMOUNT: 4 for $500


The Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA), in partnership with Xello & Method Learning, has established the WSCA High School Scholarship Program to assist students with their post-secondary education. FOUR $500.00 scholarships will be awarded.


Eligibility:

Be a Wisconsin resident. Residency is defined by WSCA when:

An independent student or the parents of a dependent student have continuously resided in Wisconsin for the previous 12 months.

A student has continuously enrolled a minimum of one academic year within the past 12-month period at a Wisconsin high school.

Be a graduating Wisconsin high school student during the current academic year.

In the state of Wisconsin for any reason, other than a temporary purpose (ie. student visa, travel visa, etc.)

Are attending a public or private high school in Wisconsin

Will be attending a post-secondary education program during the 2024-2025 school year.

Heisman High School Scholarship

Applying for the Heisman High School Scholarship is your chance to be rewarded and gain local, state, and even national recognition for all that you’ve put into your high school career. 


Eligibility: If you’ve maintained at least a B average, participate in at least one of the school sponsored sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations, are a leader in your community and role model at your school, then you’ve got what it takes.

Student Excellence Scholarship

AMOUNT: 


The Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship program aims to recognize student leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation's goal is to encourage Wisconsin youth to pursue post-secondary education in a public or private two-year or four-year college or university. The Foundation awards $10,000 scholarships to 100 Wisconsin high school graduates each year.


Eligibility: Applicants must be graduating high school students who intend to enroll in a postsecondary institution, which may be a public or private two-year or four-year college or university. Find out more about the eligibility and selection requirements at Student Excellence.
